The widget is not transcribing anything

Check that your microphone is properly connected and selected as the input device within the widget settings. Ensure the microphone is not muted at the operating system level. Try unplugging and reconnecting a USB microphone. Test the microphone in another application (such as the Windows Sound Recorder) to confirm it is working.

The widget is transcribing but inserting text in the wrong place

Use the anchor locking feature to secure the text insertion point to a specific field or position. Ensure you have clicked inside the correct text field before beginning dictation.

The widget will not log in

Check that your Dictalogic account credentials are correct. If your organisation uses SSO, ensure your Office 365 account is active and accessible. Check your internet connection. Contact your system administrator to confirm your account has Speech Anywhere enabled.

The widget crashes or freezes

Close and relaunch the widget. Ensure your computer meets the minimum system requirements. Check for and install any available widget updates. If the problem persists, contact Dictalogic support.

Text is being inserted into the wrong application

Ensure the correct application window is in focus (active) before starting dictation. Use anchor locking if working within a specific field.

The widget is not recognising voice commands

Speak voice commands clearly and at a moderate pace. Ensure you are using the correct command phrasing. Check the current language setting, commands must be spoken in the selected language.
