Simply say the name of the punctuation mark as part of your dictation. For example, say &#8220;The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday comma 15th April full stop&#8221; and the widget will insert: &#8220;The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, 15th April.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Common punctuation commands include: &#8220;full stop&#8221; or &#8220;period&#8221;, &#8220;comma&#8221;, &#8220;question mark&#8221;, &#8220;exclamation mark&#8221;, &#8220;colon&#8221;, &#8220;semicolon&#8221;, &#8220;open bracket&#8221;, &#8220;close bracket&#8221;, &#8220;open quotes&#8221;, &#8220;close quotes&#8221;, &#8220;hyphen&#8221;, and &#8220;dash&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"811\" src=\"https:\/\/kb.dictalogic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/image-20.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1382\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kb.dictalogic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/image-20.png 1024w, https:\/\/kb.dictalogic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/image-20-300x238.png 300w, https:\/\/kb.dictalogic.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/image-20-768x608.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Formatting commands<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Say &#8220;new line&#8221; to move to the next line. Say &#8220;new paragraph&#8221; to insert a paragraph break. Say &#8220;tab&#8221; to insert a tab. Say &#8220;cap&#8221; followed by a word to capitalise the first letter of that word. Say &#8220;caps on&#8221; to begin capitalising subsequent words, and &#8220;caps off&#8221; to return to normal.
